Turano is seeking a motivated and driven individual to join the team as Sustainability Intern. The intern will work in conjunction with the Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator to support various projects and needs.This individual will work with all aspects of the organization to collect data and develop the programs which will support Turano’s goals to improve all facilities’ energy, water, and waste performance.
This internship consists of three main projects to improve and promote Turano Baking Company’s environmental and sustainability goals. The intern will research and perform additional environmental and sustainability tasks for Turano Baking Company’s five food processing plants. The intern’s primary responsibilities will result in products in the form of reports, a tracking index, survey, and program modifications. The products of the internship will be incorporated into Turano Baking Company’s various sustainability programs.
- Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the environmental sustainability field or its equivalency in experience and/or training.
- Preference given to candidates with previous experience in environmental sciences, environmental compliance, or sustainability projects.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
