Italian Beef Burger

Italian Beef Burger

Ingredients

For The Burger
• 8 Turano Hamburger Buns
•8 slices of American or Provolone Cheese
•2 lbs of Ground Beef 80/20
•1 Tbsp of Onion Mix
•1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
•1/2 tsp of Dried Basil
•1 tsp of Crushed Red Pepper

For the Italian Beef:
• 3 Cups Water
• 1 tsp Salt
• 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
• 1 tsp Dried Oregano
• 1 tsp Dried Basil
• 1 tsp Onion Salt
• 1 tsp Dried Parsley
• 1 tsp Garlic Powder
• 1 Bay Leaf
• 1 (.7 ounce) Package of Dry Italian-style Salad Dressing Mix
• 1 (5 pound) Chuck or Rump Roast
•1 cup of Hot Giardiniera

Directions

① Prepare the homemade or prebought Italian Beef. For homemade, combine water with salt, ground black pepper, oregano, basil, onion salt, parsley, garlic powder, bay leaf, and salad dressing mix in a saucepan. Stir well, and bring to a boil.
② Place roast in the slow cooker, and pour salad dressing mixture over the meat. Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours, or on High for 4 to 5 hours. When done, remove bay leaf, and shred meat with a fork.
③ When you're ready to make the sandwich, heat up your grill to medium-high. While that’s heating up, combine the ground beef and spices in a medium bowl. Once mixed, form the patty mixture into balls and shapes into patties.
④ Place burgers on the hot grill for about 5 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes or until desired doneness. Place the American cheese on the burger the last minute before finishing.
⑤ Once the burgers are finished, remove them from the grill and place them on toasted Turano Hamburger Buns.
⑥ Place Italian Beef and 2 Tbsp of giardiniera mix on top and enjoy!
