Melted Cheese Steak Burger

Melted Cheese Steak Burger

Ingredients

4 Turano Brioche Rolls or Gourmet Sandwich Rolls
1 lb. steak, thinly sliced across the grain
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
8 oz. mushrooms, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp. butter or oil
¼ tsp. salt, plus more to taste
¼ tsp. pepper, plus more to taste
½ tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
½ tbsp. soy sauce
1½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded or sliced

Directions

Slice steak against the grain. Season generously with salt and pepper and set aside. Prepare the mushrooms, onions, peppers, garlic according to the ingredient list. Set aside.

In a large skillet, heat half of the butter or oil to high heat. When the skillet is very hot, cook the steak in small batches. Move the pieces to cook on both sides for about 2 minutes. Transfer to a covered dish.

Once the steak is cooked, add the remaining butter or oil to the skillet. Add the sliced onions, peppers, mushrooms, and garlic. Let them brown for 1-2 minutes, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.

Add the steak back to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Serve on toasted Brioche Rolls with a generous portion of cheddar cheese. Enjoy!
