Bacon Jam Patty Melt

Bacon Jam Patty Melt

Ingredients
Bacon Jam
• ½ lb bacon, diced
• ½ yellow onion, diced
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 tbsp hot honey
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• ¼ cup maple syrup
• ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
Patty Melt
• 4 slices Turano Rustic Italian Bread
• 2 (⅓ lb) ground beef patties
• 4 slices cheddar cheese
• 2 tbsp butter, softened
• Salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
① Cook the diced bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan.
② Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5–7 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
③ Return the bacon to the skillet and add the hot honey, brown sugar, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine and cook for 5–8 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken and caramelize. Remove from the heat.
④ Season the beef patties with salt and black pepper. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side, or until your desired doneness. During the final minute of cooking, top each patty with cheddar cheese and cover until melted.
⑤ Butter one side of each slice of Turano Rustic Italian Bread and toast in a skillet until golden brown.
⑥ Place one slice of toasted bread on a plate, add the cheeseburger patty, spoon a generous amount of bacon jam over the top, and finish with the remaining slice of toasted bread.
⑦ Slice in half and serve immediately.
