Turano Bacon & Pear & Brie Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
2 slices Turano San Francisco Style Sourdough bread
1 tablespoon butter, divided
1/2 large red onion, sliced thin
¼ tbs oregano
¼ tbs thyme
1/2 a ripe pear, sliced thin
4 large slices of brie cheese
2-3 slices bacon
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat.
Add onions, oregano, and Thyme, stirring occasionally until caramelized - around 20 minutes.
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place the cheese on the side without butter, then lay half the onion mixture on top.
Next, add the pear slices over the onions.
Add remaining cheese slices, bacon, and rest of onion mixture and top with remaining slice of bread, with the butter side up.
Place sandwich back onto a skillet over medium-high heat.
Press down on the sandwich and cook for about 2-3 minutes, and flip.
Continue to cook until cheese has melted and bread has reached desired brownness.
Remove from skillet, cut in half and serve.
