Baked Cheesy Meatball Sandwiches

Baked Cheesy Meatball Sandwiches

Ingredients
• 3 Turano French Rolls
• 1 ½ pounds ground beef
• 1 teaspoon minced garlic
• 5-6 slices of mozzarella cheese
• 1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
• 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup milk
• 2 cups marinara sauce
• 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Directions
① In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, and milk. Mix together until thoroughly blended.
② Preheat the broiler in the oven. Coat the bottom of a 9 or 10-inch cast-iron skillet with cooking spray.
③ Form meatballs that are approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter and place the meatballs in a single layer in the cast iron skillet. Broil for 8-10 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and browned on top.
④ While the meatballs are cooking, melt half a stick of butter and mix in garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Generously brush butter mixture on the inside of each French Roll. Place in the oven until toasted. (Keep a close eye on the bread since the oven is on broil)
⑤ Remove the meatballs from the oven and carefully drain off any fat or liquid in the pan.
⑥ Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and layer the cheese slices over the sauce. Broil for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted and browned.
⑦ To build the sandwich, spoon 3 meatballs into each French Roll, top with parmesan and parsley. Enjoy!
