Jalapeno Poppers
Jalapeno Poppers
Ingredients
2 slices Pane Turano (for breadcrumbs)
12 jalapeno peppers
6 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. garlic powder
4 oz. sharp cheddar, shredded
2 tbsp. chives, finely chopped
1 tbsp. butter
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Toast the Pane Turano for 15 minutes, flipping occasionally. Break into pieces and put in a plastic bag. Use a rolling pin to create breadcrumbs.
Slice the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise. Using a small spoon, scoop out the seeds and membranes.
In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, garlic powder, cheddar cheese, and chives.
In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and melted butter.
Fill the jalapeno peppers with the cream cheese mixture first, then top with the breadcrumb mixture. Place on a baking pan and bake for 20 minutes, until golden. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then serve and enjoy!
