Vino Up's Sausage & Peppers

Vino Up's Sausage & Peppers

• 6 Turano French Rolls
• 1 package of Mild Italian Sausage
• 1 green pepper, thinly sliced
• 1 red pepper, thinly sliced
• 1 sweet onion, thinly sliced
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 cup of white wine
• granulated garlic, to taste
• spicy brown mustard, optional

① Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
② Slice the red and green bell peppers and onions into thin slices. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, onions, and peppers. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, granulated garlic, minced garlic, and oregano. Let it brown for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
③ While the vegetables are browning, in a separate skillet with medium-high heat, cook the sausage until browned on all sides (about 5 minutes each side). Once finished, add the sausage to the pepper mix and place it in the oven to keep warm.
④ Meanwhile, it's time to prepare the delicious wine sauce! In the skillet used to cook the sausage, add 1/4 cup of white wine to the pan, adding fresh garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and granulated garlic to taste. Cook until the alcohol has been cooked down for about 3-5 minutes over medium heat.
⑤ Once the sauce is finished, take out the sausage and peppers and construct the sandwich. Soak up the wine sauce with the French Rolls, add the sausage and peppers mixture, and serve with spicy brown mustard. Pair it with a glass of Vino and enjoy!
