Breaded Fish & Chips

Breaded Fish & Chips


•Vegetable oil, for frying
•4 slices Turano Rustic Rye, dried out
•½ cup flour
•2 eggs, beaten
•4 cod filets
•Fries, for serving

Tartar Sauce
•½ cup mayo
•1 Tbsp. pickles, finely chopped
•¼ tsp. capers, finely chopped
•¼ tsp. lemon juice
•½ tsp. stone ground mustard
•½ tsp. yellow mustard
•1 tsp. sugar
•½ tsp. dried dill
•¼ tsp. onion powder
•Salt & pepper, to taste


① Preheat oil to 350˚F.
② Crush the rustic rye in a plastic bag with a rolling pin to create a coarse breadcrumb.
③ Place the rye crumb, flour and eggs in three separate bowls. Dredge the cod in flour, then egg, followed by rye. Fry for 2-3 minutes and rest on a wire rack.
③ In a small bowl, mix together all ingredients for the tartar sauce and refrigerate until ready to use.
④ Serve breaded cod with tartar sauce and fries then enjoy!
