Air Fried Boursin Cheese with Bacon Jam

Ingredients

• 4 slices Pane Turano, cut in triangles
• 1 Boursin Cheese round
• 1 cup flour
• 1 cup panko bread crumbs
• 1 egg
• 4 Strips bacon, cut thin strips
• 1 onion, thinly sliced
• 3 shallots, thinly sliced
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
• 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
• Salt/pepper
• Honey to drizzle


Directions

① To make the Boursin cheese: Create a breading station: one bowl for the flour, one for the egg, and one for the panko with the salt and pepper.
② Coat the boursin in the flour on all sides, then the beaten egg, and finally in the panko mixture.
③ Be sure to coat all sides and press panko on to cheese to make sure it is sticking.
④ Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes at 400°F
⑤ Place the coated Boursin in the air fryer basket. Spray olive oil over the top and sides of coated Boursin. Air fry for 5 minutes at 400 °F
⑥ Remove from air fryer.

To Make the Bacon Jam:
① In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until it is crisp and golden, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside.
② Add the onion and shallot to the pan, and reduce the heat to low. Sauté until the onion is caramelized and soft, 25 to 30 minutes.
③ Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, 1 minute more. Stir in the balsamic vinegar and then the reserved bacon to combine. Season the mixture generously with pepper.
④ Place the Air Fried Boursin on a serving plate. Pour the hot onion-bacon mixture over the cheese.
⑤ Garnish with chives, drizzle with honey and Serve immediately with toasted bread slices.
