Apple Strudel Mini French Roll Bake

Apple Strudel Mini French Roll Bake

Ingredients
• 8 Turano Mini French Rolls, sliced horizontally (1 pack)
• 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced to cubes
• ½ cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ¼ tsp nutmeg
• ¼ tsp allspice
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
• 2 cup cream cheese, softened
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• Interior and Exterior Cinnamon Sugar Butter Topping
• 6 tsp cinnamon
• 4 tbsp brown sugar
• 8 tbsp butter
Directions
① Preheat oven: 350°F (175°C).
② Prep the bread: Using a bread knife, cut each Mini French Roll in half, separating the top and bottom rolls. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a baking dish.
③ Toast the bottom halves: Mix together the Cinnamon Sugar Butter Topping ingredients. Brush half the mixture on the inside of each bottom roll. Place the rolls in the oven until lightly golden.
④ Prep the apples: In a medium skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Cook 5–7 minutes until apples are slightly softened but not mushy. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
⑤ Prepare the cream layer: Mix softened cream cheese with vanilla until smooth.
⑥ Layer the dish: Place the bottom halves of the rolls down. Spread a layer of cream cheese mixture, add a generous layer of spiced apple mixture, add chopped nuts, and finish by drizzling caramel sauce. Then place the top halves of the rolls.
⑦ Mix the topping: Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon until well combined. Brush the tops of each roll with melted butter and sprinkle the mixture over the top of them.
⑧ Bake: Cover loosely with foil and bake 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5 minutes until the top is golden and edges are slightly crisp.
⑨ Finish: Let the bake cool 5–10 minutes and enjoy!
