Bacon Wrapped Chili Cheese Dog

Bacon Wrapped Chili Cheese Dog

Ingredients

• Turano Poppyseed Bleacher Hot Dog Buns
• 1 cup canned tomatos
• 1 yellow onion
• 1 red pepper
• 2 garlic cloves
• Olive oil
• 3/4 lb ground beef
• 1 tsp tomato paste
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp oregano
• 1 tsp cumin
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp pepper
• Your favorite hot dogs
• Your favorite bacon
• Your favorite shredded cheese
• 1 white onion

Directions

① Cut up the yellow onion, red pepper, and garlic. Add olive oil to a pan, bring to heat, and add onion, pepper, and garlic. Allow to gain some color and then add the ground beef and mix. After a few minutes of mixing, add the spices and mix. After a few minutes, add the canned tomatoes, followed by the tomato paste. Bring to a boil and lower to a simmer, and allow to simmer covered for about 2 hours. Add water as needed and take off the cover to mix every 10-15 minutes.
② While the chili is cooking, you can score your hot dogs and wrap them with bacon for grilling. The hot dogs will take 10-15 minutes on the grill. As always, low and slow is best, you don't want to cook the bacon and not the hot dog. Wait until less than 30 minutes until the chili is set to be done cooking to begin this process.
③ Once the dogs are grilled, you can assemble with Turano Poppy Seed Bleacher Buns, the chili, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced white onions.
