Double Smashburger with Bacon Onion Jam

Double Smashburger with Bacon Onion Jam

Ingredients

• Turano Sesame Bleacher Hamburgerurger Buns
• 1 lb ground beef
• Your favorite sliced cheese--we used cheddar
• 1lb of Bacon
• Olive oil
• Salt
• Pepper
• Pickles
• 1 yellow onion
• 2 garlic cloves
• 1/3 cup balsamic
• 1 tbsp brown sugar

Directions

① Cut up the bacon into little pieces, mince the garlic, and dice the onion.
② First, add the bacon to a medium - high heat pan--no olive oil needed as the bacon fat will do all the work. After bacon is cooked, to a nice color, remove the bacon and add the onions and garlic, allowing it to sauté. Once the onion and garlic are sauted, add back in the bacon along with the balsamic, 1/3 cup of water, and brown sugar. Allow it to cook together for about 15 minutes or so, stirring regularly.
③ While the bacon onion jam is simmering, you can begin making your smash burgers by using your hands to create 2 small-medium sized balls of from the ground beef. These shouldn't be too big because you'll want to smash them thin. Heat up your cast iron and use parchment paper one the balls before you smash them. Once smashed, top with salt and pepper. Keep an eye on these as these smash burger cook quickly. Flip over to cook the other side, and top with a slice of cheese. Once the cheese is melted, we are ready to assemble.
④ To assemble, place some pickles on the bottom Turano Sesame Bleacher Hamburger Bun, top with the two smash burgers, add the warm, gooey onion jam on top, and enjoy!
