Onion Smashburger

Ingredients

• Turano Sesame Seed Hamburger Buns
• 1.5 lbs ground beef: (80/20)
• 2 white onions sliced thinly, slightly salter
• Your favorite burger seasoning
• Sliced cheese of your choice
• Ketchup
• Mustard
• Mayo
• Sweet relish
• Hot sauce


Directions

① Slice the onions to a very thin size.
② Place onions in a bowl with salt and toss. Let sit for 20 minutes and then squeeze all of the water out.
③ Make your burger balls out of the ground beef by rolling your ground beef. Place in the fridge for 20 minutes.
④ Turn your burners on high and allow your griddle to heat up for 10 minutes. You can add a splash of olive oil if your griddle isn’t seasoned properly. From here, add the burger balls to the griddle (be sure to have a decent amount of spacing between them, about 3-4 inches) and add a handful of the sliced onions on top. Smash burgers on the grill and let them cook for 3-4 minutes and flip, season the back side of the patties. After 1-2 minutes, add your cheese to the top of the patty.
⑤ While the burgers are finishing, mix you burger sauces together.
⑥ Remove the buns from the grill, add some pickles, spread your sauce, and add the smashed burgers!
