Black Bean and Pepper Jack Burger
Ingredients
4 Turano Gourmet Sandwich Rolls
½ cup of rolled oats
1 (15oz) can of black beans
1 Egg
5 slices of Pepper Jack cheese, 1 slice chopped finely.
1 avocado, sliced thin
1 jar of salsa, for topping
1 green onion, chopped thin
3 tbs cilantro, chopped
1 tbs olive oil
1 tbs ground cumin
½ tbs paprika
½ tbs garlic powder
Salt and pepper
Directions
Place the oats in a food processor and pulse a few times to chop up roughly.
Add ½ of the beans and pulse until coarse.
Add the egg, cumin, paprika, garlic powder,salt, and pepper and process well, about 1 minute.
Transfer to a large bowl, stir in cilantro, scallion, chopped cheese, and remaining beans together until even consistency.
Form bean mixture evenly into four patties, place in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
In a large skillet, add olive oil and place over high heat until very hot.
Add the burgers and cook until brown, about 3-4 minutes a side.
Cook until the burgers feel firm when pressed.
Serve the burgers in a Turano Gourmet Sandwich Rolls, with the avocado slices and salsa placed on top.
