Caramelized Banana French Toast Sandwich

Ingredients

• 4 Turano Rustic Panini slices
• 2 large eggs
• ½ cup milk (or cream for extra richness)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon
• 2 tbsp butter
• 2 ripe bananas, sliced
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 4 tbsp mascarpone cheese
• Toppings: powdered sugar, toasted pecans


Directions

① In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon
② Heat 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add banana slices and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized and golden. Remove and set aside.
③ Dip each bread slice half into the egg mixture, coating well.
④ In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and cook each slice 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
⑤ Spread mascarpone on the bottom slice of bread. Layer with caramelized bananas. Top with the other bread slice. Press gently and warm 30 seconds in the pan if needed.
⑥ Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with caramelized syrup, sprinkle with toasted pecans. Serve warm.
