Caramelized Onion Burgers + Brats with Special Chicago Sauce

Ingredients

• 2 Turano Hot Dog Buns
• 2 Turano Hamburger Buns
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1 large yellow onion
• 2 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 1/2 cup mayo
• 1/2 cup giardiniera
• 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
• 4 slices of cheddar cheese


Directions

① Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
② In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 patties.
③ Grill burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
④ Slice onion and sauté with butter, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar until caramelized.
⑤ Toast Turano Hamburger buns on the grill, then place the burger on the bun.
⑥ To make the sauce, mix together the mayo and Giardiniera in a bowl. Avoid adding too much oil from the Giardiniera to keep a nice consistency.
⑦ Top the burger with caramelized onions and a slice of cheddar cheese. Serve immediately.
