Classic Italian Hoagie
Grilled Vegetable Sandwich with Herb Ricotta
Turano Pane Rustico, cut in half
¼ lb. boiled ham, thinly sliced
¼ lb. capicola, thinly sliced
¼ lb. provolone cheese, thinly sliced
¼ lb. Genoa salami, thinly sliced
2 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
1 white onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp. olive oil, divided
4 tsp. red wine vinegar, divided
Salt, pepper, Italian oregano
Hot and/or sweet peppers (if desired)
Slice the rolls horizontally, but be careful not to cut all the way through.
Open up the rolls and layer ham, capicola, provolone cheese, and Genoa salami (about 4 slices of each).
Top with lettuce, tomato slices, onion, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano, and peppers if using. Enjoy!
