Pumpkin Spice Churro Sandwich


Frosting Ingredients
• 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
• 1/4 cup butter, softened
• 1/4 cup pumpkin (canned or cooked and mashed)
• 4 cups of powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Other ingredients
• Turano Rustic Italian loaf
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
• 1/2 stick of unsalted butter
• Bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips


① Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Press the pumpkin cookie cutter into each slice of Rustic Grains bread.
② Brush each side of the pumpkin cut-out with melted butter, sprinkle each side with the sugar mixture and bake until lightly browned, 5-7 minutes. Flip half-way through. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
③ Beat the cream cheese, butter, and pumpkin in a large bowl until thoroughly combined and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Beat until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl at least once to make sure all ingredients are incorporated. Add more powdered sugar for desired thickness.
④ Place icing in a piping bag or directly on the top of one of the cooled sugared pumpkin cut-outs. Then place another sugared pumpkin cut-out on top of the icing to make a sandwich.
⑤ To decorate, melt your chocolate chips and stir until smooth, add the melted chocolate to a piping bag to ice your pumpkin face. Time to eat. Enjoy!
