Baked Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
1 lb. elbow macaroni or rigatoni
2 Tbl. butter
2 Tbl. all-purpose flour
4-5 dashes hot sauce (optional)
4 cups 2% or whole milk
2 Tbl. Dijon mustard
2 cups medium or sharp cheddar, shredded
¼ cup grated parmesan or Romano cheese
Pan spray
1 Tbl. dried parsley
¼ cup Turano seasoned bread crumbs
Directions
Boil pasta until al dente, according to directions on box/bag.
In a large sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter then add the flour and stir until golden-brown, 3-4 minutes.
Stir in hot sauce, milk and mustard and bring to a boil until thickened.
Turn off heat. Stir in cheeses and whisk until cheese is completely melted.
Add pasta to the pot and stir until completely coated.
Spray a large glass or ceramic baking pan with pan spray and fill pan with macaroni and cheese mixture. Sprinkle evenly with bread crumbs.
Preheat oven to 350*F.
Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and let bake an additional 10 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes before serving.
