Derby Dip
Derby Dip
Ingredients
2 oz. unsalted butter
2 oz. AP flour
2 cups milk, not skim
1/2 cup Swiss or Gruyere cheese
Salt & Pepper, to taste
4 oz. roasted turkey breast, shredded
4 slices crisp bacon, chopped
1 medium tomato, diced
1 tsp. parsley, chopped
8 slices Turano San-Francisco Style Sourdough or Pane Turano, toasted or grilled
Directions
In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt two tablespoons butter.
Add flour and whisk to combine. Cook 3-4 minutes until light to medium shade of brown.
Add milk to the pot, whisk and bring to a simmer until thickened. Turn off heat. Let stand 3-5 minutes to cool, stirring occasionally.
Whisk in shredded cheese until completely melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Fold in turkey meat and bacon pieces.
Transfer to a serving bowl, top with diced tomato and parsley. Serve with toasted or grilled Turano bread.
