Gyro Burger on Turano Sesame Hamburger Buns


For the Gyro Burger:
• 4 Turano Sesame Buns, toasted
• 1 lb. ground lamb
• 1 lb. ground beef
• 3 tsp. kosher salt
• 2 tsp. garlic powder
• 2 tsp. onion powder
• 2 tsp. dried oregano
• 1 tsp. dried thyme
• 1 tsp. black pepper
• 1 tsp. ground cumin
• Sliced cucumber
• Sliced red onion
• Sliced tomato
For the Tzatziki Sauce:
• 1 large cucumber, peeled and seeds removed
• 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
• 2 tsp. fresh dill, chopped
• 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
• ¼ tsp. kosher salt
• ¼ tsp. black pepper
• ½ tsp. garlic powder


① For the tzatziki sauce, grate cucumber through the large holes of a box grater. Place grated cucumber in
a strainer and squeeze out any residual liquid. In a small bowl, mix together cucumber and yogurt. Stir in
fresh dill and lemon juice then season with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Keep refrigerated until
② Preheat grill on medium-high heat. In a large bowl, add the ground lamb, ground beef and all the
seasonings for the gyro burger. Mix together and divide into four 8oz patties. Place each burger on the
grill and cook to desired doneness.
③ To assemble the burgers, layer sliced cucumbers on the bottom half of bun followed by a gyro patty. Top
with sliced red onion, tomato and tzatziki sauce then finish with the top bun and enjoy!
