Patty Melt


Turano Rustic Rye Bread
1 lb ground beef (optional: 1/2 lb ground beef, 1/2 lb ground pork)
2 tbsp of butter or olive oil
1 white onion
Thousand island dressing
4 slices of swiss cheese
Garlic powder


Chop 1 whole onion
Add on to medium-high heat on a griddle over melted 1 tbsp of butter
Add pepper and garlic powder to taste
While onions are carmelizing, take ground beef and ground pork, mix together, and form two pattys
Add patty to medium-high heat griddle over 1 tbsp of butter
Press once and flip as needed to cook
When pattys are nearly completed cooking, add carmelized onion to the top, followed by 2 slices of swiss cheese
Toast rye bread over butter on griddle
Add thousand island dressing to the inside of slices
Assemble and serve
