Patty Melt

Patty Melt


• Turano Rustic Rye Bread
• 1 lb ground beef (optional: 1/2 lb ground beef, 1/2 lb ground pork)
• 2 tbsp of butter or olive oil
• 1 white onion
• Thousand island dressing
• 4 slices of swiss cheese
• Garlic powder
• Salt
• Pepper


• Chop 1 whole onion
• Add on to medium-high heat on a griddle over melted 1 tbsp of butter
• Add pepper and garlic powder to taste
• While onions are carmelizing, take ground beef and ground pork, mix together, and form two pattys
• Add patty to medium-high heat griddle over 1 tbsp of butter
• Press once and flip as needed to cook
• When pattys are nearly completed cooking, add carmelized onion to the top, followed by 2 slices of swiss cheese
• Toast rye bread over butter on griddle
• Add thousand island dressing to the inside of slices
• Assemble and serve
