Old Style Beer-Braised Onion Maxwell Street Polish

Old Style Beer-Braised Onion Maxwell Street Polish

Ingredients

• 4 Turano Gourmet Brat Rolls
• 4 Polish sausages
• 12 sport peppers
• 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter
• 1 cup Old Style beer (or any light lager)
• 1 tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• Salt and black pepper, to taste
• 1 tbsp yellow mustard (for serving)

Directions

① Grill or pan-fry the Polish sausages over medium heat until cooked through and nicely browned. Set aside.
② In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 3–4 minutes until they start to soften. Add the Old Style beer, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are tender and slightly caramelized, and most of the beer has reduced.
③ Split the Gourmet Brat Rolls and lightly toast if desired. Place a cooked Polish sausage in each roll. Spoon generous amounts of beer-braised onions over the sausage, add the sport peppers, and drizzle with yellow mustard. Enjoy!
