Beer Braised Loaded Brats
Homemade Meatball Sandwich
1 lb. ground beef (80-20 works best), divided into 8 - 2 oz. balls 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and shaved thin Salt and pepper 4 slices American cheese 4 Turano Brioche Rolls, toasted 1 tomato, sliced 4-8 leaves lettuce Ketchup, Mustard and mayo, if desired
Preheat a griddle or large skillet to medium-high heat. Place balls of ground beef on the griddle, then top each piece with a small handful of onions. Using the back of a grill spatula, smash the patties down until thin and about 4” in diameter Let cook about 2 minutes, then flip the patties and grill another 2 minutes with the onion side down. Top half of the patties with the cheese. Place the patties with cheese on the Turano brioche buns, then top with the uncheesed patties. Top with lettuce, tomato and any other desired condiments and serve.
